About the Staff
The District One Schoolhouse Staff are primarily retired elementary teachers
and paraprofessionals from local communities.
They are volunteers who believe in promoting history in a hands-on way.

The Mount Horeb Landmarks Foundation, Inc. is an all-volunteer 501C3 organization which has been instrumental in the ongoing restoration of the District#1 Schoolhouse at 110 N. 2nd Street, Mt. Horeb, WI.
The Landmarks Foundation, Inc. was formed in 2002 in response to the pending demolition of the District #1 school building.
The bylaws of the corporation call for the organization to be overseen by a board of directors with three year terms.

Our Facility
The building is the oldest school building in the village and has been designated by the village board as a local historic landmark.

It's just off the Trollway in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin.
